[origin: US4662321A] The present invention provides a method of regulating the temperature of the inside surface of cylinder liners in an internal combustion engine (e.g. a diesel engine) which is cooled by a flow of cooling fluid, the method including the improvement whereby the temperature of the cooling fluid is regulated in such a manner as to maintain the temperature of the inside surface of the cylinder liners at a reference temperature, regardless of the engine load. The invention also provides apparatus for performing the above method. The apparatus includes temperature sensors (6) situated in the thickness of the liner (1) walls between the inside surfaces thereof (1') and the cooling fluid flow ducts (10) passing through the wall.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de régulation de la température de la surface interne des chemises de cylindres d'un moteur à combustion interne refroidi par circulation d'un fluide réfrigérant, caractérisé en ce que l'on régule la température du fluide réfrigérant pour maintenir la température de la surface interne des chemises égale à une température de consigne quelle que soit la charge du moteur. Elle concerne également un dispositif de mise en oeuvre dans lequel la partie sensible du ou des capteurs (6) de température est située dans l'épaisseur de la paroi des chemises (1) comprise entre la surface interne (1') des chemises et les conduits de refroidissement (10) situés dans la paroi. Application aux moteurs Diesel.
