[origin: EP0177027A2] A device for stretch-bending elongate material, especially sections (14), tubes and the like, for ship construction, consists of a plate bed (1) with adjustable stop lugs (3) and a pulling carriage (7) which is adjustable transversely to the latter, has a collet chuck (9) with a pulling device (8) for stretching the sections (14) and is mounted in such a way that its running rail (13) lies approximately at the level of the axis of the section in order to avoid tilting moments and unwanted distortions. <IMAGE>
