[origin: US4668163A] An assembly to control automatically the clearance of a labyrinth seal of the turbo machine, including a stator member is provided which includes an annular chamber supplied with a hot air flow through orifices and a colder air flow supplied through apertures formed in the radially inner part of the stator member constituting the annular carrier of a wear seal member which forms with tips carried by the one part of the rotor the labyrinth seal, these apertures being disposed upstream of the seal. The apertures lie in the zone of corresponding parts of the carrier and of the rotor part which are so shaped as to create a annular convergent-divergent annular nozzle forming a throat. The clearance of the seal is maintained constant due to relative variations effected in the air flows and, in the sense of heating up in the case of a reduction of clearance and in the sense of cooling down in the case of an increase in clearance.

Pour contrôler automatiquement le jeu d'un joint à labyrinthe de turbomachine, un élément de stator (2) comporte une chambre annulaire (5) alimentée sous un débit D2 en air chaud par des orifices (8) et sous un débit D3 en air plus froid par des perçages (20) pratiqués dans la partie radialement interne dudit stator (2) constituant le support annulaire (6) de la garniture (7) d'usure et d'étanchéité qui forme avec des léchettes (13) portées par une pièce de rotor (1) ledit joint à labyrinthe, ces perçages (20) étant situés en amont de ladite garniture (7). Les Perçages (2) sont à la hauteur de parties coopérantes (14) du support (6) et (15) de la pièce de rotor (1) qui sont conformées de façon à créer une tuyère convergente-divergente (16) annulaire formant un col primaire (19). Le jeu j1 du joint est maintenu constant grâce aux variations relatives obtenues sur les débits d'air D2 eet D3, dans le sens d'un échauffement en cas de diminution du jeu et dans le sens d'un refroidissement en cas d'augmentation du jeu.
