[origin: US4700610A] A fluid cylinder control method for monitoring the position or controlling the movements of a piston which is slidably guided in a cylinder tube and is acted upon on at least one side by a pressure medium, in particular, maintaining the piston in a predetermined position against the action of eventual disturbance forces. This is attained in that the force which is transmitted between the piston and the cylinder by way of the parts which are slidingly guided on each other, and in particular the friction force acting by way of the seal gaskets of the piston and/or of the rod, is measured and the loading of the piston by a pressure medium is varied in the sense of reducing the measured force.

Ein Regelungsverfahren für einen Fluidzylinder zum Überwachen der Position oder Regeln der Bewegungen des Kolbens (2), der in einem Zylinderrohr (1) gleitend geführt und auf wenigstens einer Seite von einem Druckmittel beaufschlagt ist. Der Kolben (2) wird in eine vorausbestimmte Position gefahren und gegen die Einwirkung allfälliger Störkräfte in dieser Position gehalten. Dies geschieht dadurch, daß die Kraft, die zwischen dem Kolben (2) und dem Zylinder über die aufeinander gleitend geführten Teile übertragen wird, insbesondere die über die Dichtungen (3,7) des Kolbens (2) und/oder der Kolbenstange (6) wirkende Reibungskraft, gemessen und die Beaufschlagung des Kolbens (2) mit Druckmittel im Sinne einer Verringerung der gemessenen Kraft verändert wird.
