The invention relates to an impact dryer having a rotor 2 which circulates about a horizontal axis 3, is provided with striking tools 4, is open, has hot gases flowing through it and is arranged in a housing 1 which is closed at the bottom. Provided above the rotor is an inlet opening 9 for hot gases and an inlet opening 5 for the material to be dried. The dried and comminuted material passes with the drying gas through an outlet 10 located at the top. In order to separate off non-comminutable parts, openings 13/15 which make the connection to a lock space 11 and whose closing flaps 14/16 are not opened until the material supply 7 is switched off are provided. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Pralltrockner mit einem um eine waagerechte Achse 3 umlaufenden, mit Schlagwerkzeugen 4 versehenen offenen, von Heißgasen quer durchströmten Rotor 2, der in einem unten geschlossenen Gehäuse 1 angeordnet ist. Oberhalb des Rotors sind eine Eintrittsöffnung 9 für Heißgase und eine Eintrittsöffnung 5 für das zu trocknende Gut vorgesehen. Das getrocknete und zerkleinerte Gut tritt mit dem Trocknungsgas durch einen oben liegenden Auslaß 10 aus. Zur Ausscheidung von unzerkleinerbaren Teilen sind mit einem Schleusenraum 11 die Verbindung herstellende Öffnungen 13/15 vorgesehen, deren Verschlußklappen 14/16 erst nach Abschaltung der Materialzufuhr 7 geöffnet werden.
