1. A knife holding means for the knife head of a wood cutting machine which utilizes the pressure force of a centrifugal wedge (8) and in which a full cut knife (1) possibly provided with scratcher ribs (2) lies with one side against the wall of a knife groove (21) and is screwed on the other side to an adjustably disposed knife face plate (5), characterized in that the knife face plate (5) lies without contact opposite a chip removal strip (10) that overlaps said plate and in turn lies with a first contact surface (18) against the face of the full cut knife (1) or its scratcher ribs (2), and lies with a second contact surface against the pressing surface of the centrifugal wedge (8).

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Messerhalterung für den Messerkopf einer Holzzerspanungsmaschine, bei der das Messer mit seiner verstellbar angeordneten Messerbrustplatte auch während des Nachschliffs fest verbunden bleibt,selbst wenn infolge Fremdkörpereinwirkung die notwendige Nachschliffbreite erheblich über das normale Maß hinausgeht. Als wesentlich wird angesehen, daß eine die Messerbrustplatte übergreifende Spanablaufleiste erstere vollkommen vor Verschleiß schützt und verhindert , daß sich Staubaufbackungen zwischen Messerbrust und Messerbrustplatte bilden, wenn beide Elemente auffedern, sobald sie innerhalb des Messerkopfes nicht mehr dem Anpressdruck der Fliehkraft unterliegen.Die Notwendigkeit , die Innenflächen beider Elemente vor dem Nachschliff zu säubern, entfällt damit. Außerdem schützt die Spanablaufleiste die Messerbrustplatte gegen Herausfliegen während des Betriebes.
