The adjacent ends of the discharge vessel (5) open into a base body (1) which consists of an upper part (2) and a lower part (3) and on whose lower region a base sleeve (9) is mounted. A ballast and ignition device (8), arranged on a mounting plate (7), is provided inside the base body (1). For electrical connection of the upper part (2) to the lower part (3), specially shaped holders (15) are integrally formed on the upper part (2), into which holders (15) are pressed the power leads (19) of the discharge vessel (5) and the contact elements (14) which electrically connect the upper part (2) to the lower part (3). The contact elements (14) engage with corresponding opposing contacts which are connected to the mounting plate (7). <IMAGE>

Die benachbarten Enden des Entladungsgefäßes (5) münden in einen Sockelkörper (1), der aus einem Oberteil (2) sowie einem Unterteil (3) besteht und an dessen unterem Bereich eine Sockelhülse (9) befestigt ist. Innerhalb des Sockelkörpers (1) ist eine auf einer Montageplatte (7) angeordnete Vorschalt- und Zündvorrichtung (8) vorgesehen. Zur elektrischen Verbindung des Oberteils (2) mit dem Unterteil (3) sind an das Oberteil (2) speziell gestaltete Aufnahmen (15) angeformt, in denen die Stromzuführungen (19) des Entladungsgefäßes (5) und die das Oberteil (2) mit dem Unterteil (3) elektrisch verbindenden Kontaktelemente (14) eingepreßt sind. Die Kontaktelemente (14) greifen in entsprechende Gegenkontakte, die mit der Montageplatte (7) verbunden sind.
