Moisture-proof luminaire (1) having a housing (2) which is covered by a transparent bowl (5) and a circumferential seal (12) in a splashproof manner and in which various installation devices, such as a ballast (14), connecting terminals (15), luminaire wiring, etc., and at least one lamp holder (18) for a fluorescent lamp (19) are attached to an attachment rail (3) provided with a reflector (4), characterized in that part of the installation devices is attached to the longer leg (13) of an essentially L-shaped attachment rail (3), which longer leg (13) extends in the direction of the longitudinal lamp axis, that the lamp holder (18) is attached to the shorter leg (16) of said attachment rail (3), which shorter leg (16) extends in a direction perpendicular of the longitudinal lamp axis, and that the lamp holder (18), located below the raised edge (10) of the housing in the area covered by the bowl (5), extends between the short leg (16) and one end of the bowl, while the reflector (4) extends between the ballast (14) and the inserted lamp (19) from the shorter leg (16) to the other end of the bowl in spaced relationship from and parallel to the longer leg (13) of the attachment rail (3).
