Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0179945A1] 1. A device for feeding recording media (3), stacked in a magazine (2), to the platen (4) of an office machine, having a separating device (11) associated with the magazine, a transmission element (42) coupled to the platen (2) and a coupling device (10) which is disposed between the transmission element (42) and the separating device (11) and only permits a driving connection in one direction of rotation and which comprised an entrainment arrangement which can be actuated by a reversal (68, 70', 72) of the rotational movement of the platen (4) and has a driver (52) and a ratchet lever (20) of which the driver (52) coupled to the transmission element (42) is prepared, by a backward rotation of the platen (4) through a predetermined angle of rotation, for engagement with the ratchet lever (20) in order to establish a coupling to the shaft (12) of the separating device, characterized in that the ratchet lever (20) is provided with an engagement portion (28), is pivoted by the driver (52) as a result of the reversal and, on a following forward rotation of the platen (4), is coupled, through the resulting engagement with the shaft (12) of the separating device (11), for joint rotation in the forward direction of the platen (4) while, on a subsequent backward rotation of the platen (4), the driver (52) can be released from the ratchet lever (20), and in that at least one return movement restraint (9, 9') for the recording media (3') is provided in the conveying path to the platen.
