[origin: US4671452A] A pack for containing materials which are capable of flow includes a tube formed by a longitudinal sealing seam, along with a bottom and a cover closing the tube ends. The cover is formed from thermoplastic material without a carrier material, is injected on the tube, and has a pouring spout. The tube comprises cardboard which is coated with thermoplastic material on one side. The bottom is quadrangular, formed from the folded-over tube of the pack of a fold-type closure. The cover and the cross-section of the pack, at least in the region of the cover, are round. To improve such a pack with a handle so that the final consumer enjoys improved handleability and transportability, the invention provides that a portion of the tube wall, which adjoins the periphery of the cover, is folded onto itself, forming a handle, and is joined to provide a double-wall surface portion in which a gripping opening is provided. The cover is extended over the upper edge of the double-wall surface portion with the gripping opening to provide a stiffening web.

Beschrieben ist eine Packung für fließfähige Füllgüter mit einem durch eine Längssiegelnaht gebildeten Tubus (1), an dessen Enden Boden (3) und Deckel (2) angebracht sind. Von diesen besteht der Deckel (2) aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff ohne Trägermaterial. Er ist an dem Tubus (1) angespritzt und hat eine Ausgiesseinrichtung. Der Tubus besteht aus einseitig mit thermoplastischem Kunststoff beschichtetem Karton. Der Boden (3) ist viereckig und ist aus dem umgefalteten Tubus (1) der Packung als Faltverschluß ausgebildet. Der Deckel (2) sowie der Querschnitt der Pakkung sind mindestens im Bereich des Deckels rund. Zur Verbesserung einer solchen Packung, die einen Griff aufweist, so daß der Endverbraucher eine bessere Handhabe und Transportmöglichkeit hat, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß ein an den Umfang des Deckels (2) anschließender Teil der Tubuswandung unter Bildung eines Griffes (32, 33) auf sich selbst gefaltet und zu einer doppelwandigen Fläche verbunden ist, in welcher eine Greiföffnung (33) vorgesehen ist, und daß der angespritzte Deckel (2) über die Oberkante (31) der doppelwandigen Fläche (32) mit der Greiföffnung (33) zu einem Versteifungssteg (30) verlängert ist.
