1. A method for covering the lateral faces (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) of a load (2) with a strip of plastics film from a film roll (4) in which the load (2) is placed on a supporting table (6) ; the front free end portion (3a) of the strip of film (3) is held and associated with the load (2) ; the load is displaced relatively on the support table (6) with respect to the film roll (4) in order to place the strip of film (3) on the lateral faces of the load (2) ; the strip of film (3) is out transversely and the free outermost end portion (36) of the film is joined to its median portion (3b) covering the load and a new free front end portion of film (3a) is held, characterized in that in order to associate the free front end portion of the film (3a) with the load, the film is applied so as to straddle a first corner (17a) of the load, until local plastic deformation of the film is obtained.

L'invention concerne un procédé et une machine pour une charge. On recouvre les faces latérales (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) d'une charge (2) avec une bande de film (3) en matière plastique, on place la charge (2) sur une table support (6); on maintient la partie extrême libre initiale (3a) en l'appliquant à cheval sur un premier coin (17a) de la charge, on effectue un déplacement de la charge (2) par rapport à la bobine de film (4) afin de poser la bande de film (3) sur les faces latérales de la charge (2); on coupe transversalement la bande de film (3), et on solidarise la partie extrême libre terminale (3c) du film et on maintient une nouvelle partie extrême libre initiale de film (3a).
