[origin: WO8505324A1] The process for dyeing a continuous polymeric flexible substrate (12) such as a film, uses a strip of transfer paper (18) having sublimable dyes deposited on one surface. The substrate (12) and transfer paper (18) are fed simultaneously into a heat transfer apparatus (10) comprised of a heating means (30) and substrate retaining means (32). The layers are fed into the apparatus (10) so the uncoated side of the transfer paper (18) is proximate the heating means (30) and substrate is proximate the retaining means (32). The layers are held against the heating means (30) while sufficient heat is applied to the transfer paper (18) to cause the dye to sublime from the paper (18) and diffuse into the interstices of the substrate (12).

Le procédé de teinture d'un substrat flexible polymère continu (12), par exemple un film, utilise une bande de papier de transfert (18) comportant des colorants sublimables déposés sur une surface. Le substrat (12) et le papier de transfert (18) sont introduits simultanément dans un appareil de transfert thermique (10) formé d'un dispositif de chauffage (30) et d'un dispositif de retenue du substrat (32). Les couches sont introduites dans l'appareil (10) de telle manière que le côté non enduit du papier de transfert (18) est à proximité du dispositif de chauffage (30) et que le substrat se trouve près du dispositif de retenue (32). Les couches sont maintenues contre le dispositif de chauffage (30) alors qu'une chaleur suffisante est appliquée sur le papier de transfert (18) pour mener la sublimation du colorant à partir du papier (18) et sa diffusion dans les interstices du substrat (12).
