Abstract (en)
The yarn supply mechanism comprises a stationary structure (5) for storing a yarn supply which can be wound thereon by means of a rotatable winding arm (6) and which can be taken off the structure (5) overhead, and also a device for the automatic control of the rotation of the winding arm (6) as a function of the length of the stored yarn supply. Forwarding means (16) transport the yarn coils to the take-off end. A monitoring means (8, 9 or 15) supplies signals about the process of winding to a control unit. The control unit connects to separating means (a to f). By processing the winding signals, the control unit determines that separating element which, owing to its position, separates the amount of yarn required for the weft insertion from the remaining yarn coils and activates it on receipt of a release signal. After yarn removal has taken place, the separating element is deactivated. This measured, always retrievable amount of yarn makes the device particularly suitable for use with jet weaving machines in that it permits the weaving of multicoloured pick-and-pick fabrics. <IMAGE>

Die Fadenliefervorrichtung umfaßt einen stillstehenden Wickelkörper (5) zur Speicherung eines mittels eines drehbaren Wickelarmes (6) aufwickelbaren Fadenvorrates, der von dem Wickelkörper (5) überkopf abziehbar ist, sowie eine Vorrichtung zum selbsttätigen Steuern der Drehbewegung des Wickelarmes (6) in Abhängigkeit von der Länge des gebildeten Fadenvorrats. Vorschubmittel (16) transportieren die Fadenwindungen zum abwickelseitigen Ende. Eine Uberwachungseinrichtung (8,9 oder 15) liefert Signale über den Vorgang des Aufwickelns an eine Steuereinheit. An die Steuereinheit angeschlossen sind die Trennmittel (a bis f). Durch Verarbeitung der Wickel-Signale bestimmt die Steuereinhait dasjenige Trennelement, welches aufgrund seiner Lage eine für den Schußeintrag benötigte Fadenmenge von des restlichen Fadenwindungen trennt und aktiviert dieses bei Eintreffen eines Freigabe- Signales. Nach erfolgter Fadenentnahme wird des Trennelement inaktiviert. Diese abgemessene, beliebig abrufbare Fadenmenge macht diese Vorrichtung besonders für den Einsatz an Düsenwebmaschinen geeignet, sie ermöglicht das mehrfarbige Weben "pic-a-pic".
