Abstract (en)
In such equipment for casting metal strip, especially molten steel, the molten metal (2) under pressure can be conveyed according to the principle of communicating tubes from a storage vessel (1) into a straight mould (3). In order to avoid difficulties which occur during the casting of strips, e.g. those which relate to the control of the inflow of molten metal (2) into the very narrow slot mould, it is proposed that the molten metal (2) under high pressure in an at least partially closed storage vessel (1) should be introducible through a slot outlet (5) which is provided in the upper region of the storage vessel (1), that a foil (6) should be introducible at the casting rate into the path of the respective side of the strand, at least at the underside (3a) of the closed casting cross-section (7), and that the foil (6) and the cast strip (9) should rest on a cooled guide (10) for the foil (6) and the cast strip (9). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei einer solchen Vorrichtung zum Bandstranggießen von Metall, insbesondere von Stahlschmelze, ist die unter Druck stehende Metallschmelze (2) nach dem Prinzip kommunizierender Röhren von einem Vorratsgefäß (1) in einen Kristallisator (3) förderbar. Um beim Bandstranggießen auftretende Schwierigkeiten, z.B. hinsichtlich der Regelung des Zuflusses von Metallschmelze (2) in die sehr schmale Spaltkokille zu vermeiden, wird vorgeschlagen, daß die unter erhöhtem Druck in einem zumindest teilweise geschlossenen Vorratsgefäß (1) befindliche Metallschmelze (2) durch einen Spaltauslaß (5), der im oberen Bereich des Vorratsgefäßes (1) vorgesehen ist, einführbar ist, daß zumindest an der Unterseite (3a) des geschlossenen Gießquerschnitts (7) eine Folie (6) in den Weg der jeweiligen Strangseite mit Gießgeschwindigkeit einführbar ist und daß Folie (6) und Gußband (9) auf einer gekühlten Führung (10) für die Folie (6) bzw. das Gußband (9) aufliegen.
