Abstract (en)
The roll has a detachable sleeve (6) mounted on a core (1). Complementary formations (100, 101) are provided on the sleeve and core, to prevent relative rotation of the sleeve and core. The sleeve can be slightly tapered internally and the core has a complementary taper with aperture between its ends for applying fluid under pressure to expand the sleeve for fitting and removal longitudinally of the core. The rotation-preventing formations can be a key and keyway. The key can be provided on the sleeve. The sleeve can be a gravure printing sleeve with an etched metal outer surface.
