A weft yarn storage device (3) for a loom, the device having a storage element (12) on which the weft yarn (6) can be wound and which comprises a drum-shaped part (19) disposed eccentrically of the drive shaft (2) of the storage device (3) and a number of brackets (21) forming a radially adjustable winding-receiving part, the brackets (21) being retained in the drum-shaped winding-receiving part (19) by way of an arm (22) disposed radially of the storage element (12), the other arm (23) of the bracket (21) extending substantially parallel to the axis of the drive shaft (2) towards a main disc or plate (26) of the storage element (12), characterised in that the main disc or plate (26) is adapted for rotation (at 60) and is formed with at least one spiral groove (28, 128a-c) into which axial arms (23) of the brackets (21) extend.
