1. Splitting wedge for a wood cutter, characterized by the fact that it is asymmetrical and is provided with a flat face, constituting its basis, intended to be in contact with the stock of the bole to be cut, when the wedge is engaged in a slot provided in this bole, and with an active face forming, with the said basis, an angle which is increasing from the front end of the wedge in the direction of its rear end.

Le coin (1) présente une face plane (2), formant sa base, et une face (3) constituée par trois pans (3a, 3b, 3c) formant chacun un angle différent avec la face (2), cet angle allant en croissant de l'extrémité antérieure du coin à son extrémité postérieure. Cette disposition présente l'avantage que l'efficacité du coin est améliorée et que le risque que le coin soit éjecté sous l'effet de la pression qu'exerce sur lui le tronc soit fortement réduit.
