[origin: US4664625A] This invention relates to a method and an apparatus for heat treatment of a powder material comprising a device for post-combustion of the combustible constituent remaining in the powder material which contains, or is mixed with, a constituent apt to cause an exothermic reaction either with a gas or with another constituent, proceeding from a precalciner ensuring a primary combustion of the said constituent, so as to achieve the complete combustion of the said constituent.
