Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8600063A1] A twin-column stationary lift (1) for raising motorized vehicles, each column (2) being equipped with a slide (4) which can be adjusted for height, with two carrying arms (8) which can be adjusted for length and capable of being moved apart, in order to support the motorized vehicle (10). In order to facilitate work on the floor of the body of a motorized vehicle, this invention proposes that the pairs of pivoting arms (8) be linked to the slides (4), each by an adjustment device (5, 6), both adjustment devices being able to pivot around a common horizontal axis (A). In addition, retaining devices (12, 13) are provided to maintain the vehicle in place in a reliable manner. This invention also makes it possible to transform existing twin-column lifts at no great expenses in the manner described in the invention.
