The invention relates to a process for burning materials comprising oxidisable parts in a furnace. In this connection, a gas is conducted between at least two of the materials arranged at a distance from one another. In order to be able to burn the materials in the most economical manner, without the quality of the burnt material being impaired, it is proposed to bring up laterally to two consecutive materials two sealing surfaces and to form an intermediate space enclosed by the side surfaces of the materials, which are turned towards one another, and the sealing surfaces, and to conduct the gas into the intermediate space. <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Brennen von oxidierbare Bestandteile enthaltenden Materialien in einem Ofen. Dabei wird ein Gas zwischen wenigstens zwei der mit Abstand zueinander angeordneten Materialien geleitet. Um die Materialien auf möglichst wirtschaftliche Weise brennen zu können, ohne daß die Qualität des gebrannten Materials beeinträchtigt wird, wird vorgeschlagen, zwei Dichtflächen an zwei aufeinanderfolgende Materialien seitlich heranzuführen und einen von den einander zugewandten Seitenflächen der Materialien und den Dichtflächen umgrenzten Zwischenraum zu bilden und das Gas in den Zwischenraum einzuleiten.
