Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0184224A2] 1. A multi-range switching device comprising a rotating switching disc (1) which can be switched over in respect of rotation speed or time range through a mechanical switching gear by means of a rotary knob (27) which is coupled to the switching gear and which is arranged coaxially with the switching disc (1), and switching slide contacts (2) which are arranged on the switching disc (1) and which serve to actuate a switching arrangement (5), where the switching slide contacts (2) can be programmed by means of time-range-related scale graduations of a dial face (12) which is arranged on the front face (25) of the time dial (1) and where the operation of the rotary knob (27) simultaneously effects a rotation-speed-related or time-range-related switch-over of the scale graduation on the dial face (12), characterized in that as a result of the rotation of the rotary knob (27), the drive shafts (6 and 7) are axially displaced so that the coupling components (8 and 9) arranged on the drive shafts (6, 7), or in place of the coupling components (8 and 9) a gear wheel (21) and a gear pinion (22), can be caused to engage alternately with coupling components (10) or with gear rings (28), as the case may be, on the switching disc (1).
