[origin: US4778290A] A printer having a printing head provided with a plurality of printing elements disposed substantially along a line, a cylinder supporting a print sheet such as a sheet of paper held by an edge clamp and an ink ribbon changer. Four ink ribbons, for example, are contained each in a cartridge removably attached to a support and indexing mechanism. The support and indexing mechanism of ink ribbons and providing an accurate multi-color printing.

L'imprimante comprend une tête d'impression (30) avec une multitude d'organes d'impresson (33) arrangés essentiellement suivant une ligne, un cylindre d'impression (2), sur lequel une feuille de papier peut être maintenue grâce à un mécanisme serre-papier (8), et un dispositif changeur (40) de ruban encreur. Quatre rubans encreurs (31) sont contenus dans des cassettes (55) fixées de façon amovible sur des organes de fixation (46) montés sur deux courroies crantées (41). Ces courroies crantées disposées en circuit rectangulaire et entraînées par un moteur (45) permettent de changer rapidement le ruban (31) et assurent une impression polychromique précise.
