Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0184811A2] In the case of radio networks in tactical operation, special measures for jamming resistance to specific jammers are generally used only when jamming is to be expected or is already taking place, in view of the availability of the existing radio channels and the reduced transmission quality of the information to be transmitted which generally results. However, in the uncoded transmission of speech in analog form carried out in the normal way there is still the risk of a potential enemy infiltrating radiotelephone communication and causing confusion by imitating commands or messages. To prevent this, it is proposed to inject at the transmitting end short sound pulses (TI) into the voice signal (ASS) at pseudo-randomly varying time intervals (F), the sound pulses being evaluated at the receiving end to monitor for the infiltration of a potential enemy in the voice communication. <IMAGE>
