[origin: US4580854A] A furniture member includes a back wall, two sidewalls, a bottom wall and a top wall, which can be constructed framelike or solid. In order to facilitate disassembly, transport in a small space, and assembly and disassembly without tools, and to assure sufficient stiffness of the assembled furniture member, a post is provided on each side of the back wall, each post being wider than the back wall so as to project forwardly and rearwardly beyond it. Each sidewall has, in its rear region, a recess which receives a respective post of the back wall, each sidewall being connected to the associated post by upper and lower pivot joints. The pivot joints of the respective sidewalls are arranged on opposite sides of the back wall, so that in a collapsed condition each sidewall lies on a respective side of the back wall. The bottom and top wall are each connected to the sidewalls by two separable swivel joints arranged in the front regions of the sidewalls and, during rotary movement and depending on the direction of rotation, cause the top or bottom wall to move into or out of a condition tightly pressed against each of the sidewalls.

Möbelkorpusse mit einer Rückwand, zwei Seitenwänden und einem Boden und einer Decke, wobei diese rahmenartig oder aber geschlossen ausgebildet sein können, haben, um diese zerlegbar auszubilden und auf kleinstem Raum transportieren zu können, wobei die Montage wie auch die Demontage ohne Werkzeuge erfolgt und die Steifigkeit des Möbelkorpus' gewährleistet ist, an jeder Seite der Rückwand (2) je einen Pfosten (7,8), der breiter als die Rückwand (2) ist und nach vorn und hinten über diese übersteht. Jede Seitenwand (3, 4) weist in ihrem hinteren Bereich eine Aussparung (9) auf, die den Pfosten (7,8) der Rückwand aufnimmt, wobei jede Seitenwand (3, 4) über ein oberes und ein unteres Drehgelenk (12, 13) mit den Pfosten (7, 8) verbunden ist. Die Drehgelenke (12, 13) jeder Seitenwand sind auf einander gegenüberliegenden Seiten der Rückwand (2) angeordnet, so daß im zusammengeklappten Zustand auf jeder Seite der Rückwand (2) je eine Seitenwand (3, 4) zu liegen kommt. Der Boden (6) und die Dekke (5) sind über jeweils zwei teilbare Drehgelenke (23, 24) mit den Seitenwänden (3, 4) verbunden, die im vorderen Bereich der Seitenwand (3, 4) angeordnet sind und bei der Drehbewegung je nach Drehrichtung ein Anpressen bzw. ein Lösen bewirken. Die Decke (5) und der Boden (6) liegen im hinteren Bereich auf der oberen bzw. auf der unteren Seite der Rückwand auf.
