Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0185109A1] 1. Odour trap wherein, in a rectilinearly downwardly extending flow path (A-B) there is, pivotable about an axis (4) disposed outside the flow path (A-B) a flap (1) which, in the position of rest and under the action of a counterweight (5) which counteracts the force of gravity of the flap, bears on the underside of a seating (2) which is inclined obliquely downwardly in relation to the pivot axis (4) of the flap and which pivots downwardly when subjected to the loading of liquid striking it (1) from above, characterised in that the flap (1) and the seat (2) are disposed in a tubular main housing part (6) which is to be incorporated into the fluid pipe, in particular between a water outlet pipe and a sewer connecting pipe, the counterweight (5) being disposed in a housing projection (7) which is laterally adjacent the main housing part (6), and in that one half of the cross-section of the tubular main part (6) engages into the box-like housing projection (7) and in that the casing (13) of the tubular main part (6) in the housing projection (7) has a cut-out (15, 16) which extends over the half cross-section from the seat (2) as far as the bottom end (14) of the housing projection (7) and in that the housing projection (7) is tightly sealed by a removable cover (20) and in that the flap (1) together with the counterweight (5) can, once the cover (20) has been removed, be with-drawn from the housing (6, 7) so that a wire cleaning brush can be introduced through the housing projection (7) and into the cavity in the main housing part (6) which extends under the seat (2) and into the liquid pipe which is adjacent thereto.
