[origin: EP0185172A2] The invention relates to a boundary insulation strip of a sound insulating surface material for providing sound proofing and expansion space at the end face connecting surfaces of non-bearing partition walls having two oppositely arranged bearing/connecting surfaces with longitudinal boundary surfaces. The two bearing/connecting surfaces are connected with cover strips of a highly flexible sound insulating surface material with formation of an integral whole. The surface material for sound proofing consists of cork, wool or foam, in particular crosslinked polyolefin foam which may have in a certain manner heavy mass particles contained therein.
