[origin: US4743199A] In a method and a tooth brush for removing plaque from teeth and gums, the mixture of ozone with air of a predetermined ozone concentration is fed into the oral cavity through tubular bristles, provided on the surface of the tooth brush, from a source of the ozone-air mixture. The ozone-air mixture is distributed simultaneously with a dentifrice containing solid particles through which undesired high ozone concentration at spots outside a target spot in the oral cavity is neutralized.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Zahnbürste zur Beseitigung von Keimen in der Mundhöhle, insbesondere an Zähnen und am Zahnfleisch. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, ein Verfahren und Zahnbürste der eingangs genannten Gattung zu schaffen, mit dem bzw. mit der eine wirksame Beseitigung von Keimen in der Mundhöhle in schonender Weise auch dann von jedermann durchgeführt werden kann, wenn sich in letzterer entzündliche Bereiche, Paradontiden oder sonstige akute Infektionen befinden. Diese Erfindung wird verfahrensmäßig dadurch gelöst, daß bei der Zahnreinigung über eine Zahnbürste ein Ozon-Luft-Gemisch in die Mundhöhle gefördert wird und vorrichtungsmäßig dadurch gelöst, daß die Öffnungen (3') für das Ozon-Luft-Gemisch flexible Kanalborsten (10) mit Durchgangsöffnungen (13,14) aufweisen, die über die Borstenaufnahmefläche (3) hinausragen.
