[origin: WO8600113A1] To modify a given profile of a gallery of the like, particularly a circular profile so as to give it the shape of a vault, a succession of deepenings are drilled in the longitudinal direction of the gallery into the wall by means of a drilling head (12) which is first displaced perpendicularly to the direction of the gallery. The deepenings are made in such a way that they overlap each other. A device for implementing such method comprises a feed device (18, 19, 28, 29) for moving in the direction of the gallery wall a drilling head (12) provided at its front end with tools.

Pour modifier un profil donné d'une galerie ou analogue, en particulier un profil circulaire, de manière à ce qu'il prenne la forme d'une voûte, on creuse dans le sens longitudinal de la galerie une succession d'approfondissements dans la paroi avec une tête de forage (12), qui dans un premier mouvement se déplace perpendiculairement à la direction de la galerie. Les approfondissements sont réalisés de manière à se chevaucher. Un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé présente un dispositif d'avancement (18, 19, 28, 29) pour mouvoir dans la direction de la paroi de la galerie une tête de forage (12) munie à sa partie avant d'outils.
