[origin: WO8600133A1] A speech detector circuit for selectively transmitting speech signals while suppressing ambient sound related signals comprises an input from a microphone producing a speech signal and an input from a microphone producing a noise signal. The circuit includes a comparator which compares the speech signal with peak values of the noise signal to produce a pulse signal which indicates when the speech signal exceeds a threshold and a discriminator responsive to the pulse signal to produce a detected speech signal when the pulse signal occurs within a selected period which is spaced from a preceding pulse signal by a selected period.

Un circuit de détection de la parole pour l'émission sélective de signaux de parole tout en supprimant des signaux relatifs aux sons ambiants comporte une entrée pour un microphone produisant un signal de parole et une entrée pour un microphone produisant un signal de bruit. Le circuit comporte un comparateur comparant le signal de parole avec des valeurs de crête du signal de bruit afin de produire un signal d'impulsion indiquant le dépassement d'un certain seuil par le signal de parole, ainsi qu'un discriminateur répondant au signal d'impulsion pour produire un signal de parole détectée lorsque le signal d'impulsion apparaît pendant un laps de temps choisi, espacé d'un signal d'impulsion précédent par un laps de temps déterminé.
