Abstract (en)
A heavy phosphate coating suitable as a base for a lubricant, prior to cold deformation of a ferrous surface, is formed by application of an aqueous acidic phosphating solution containing phosphate, organic nitro compound or nitrate (introduced as an inorganic nitrate), zinc, manganese or iron and, to increase the coating weight, hydroxylamine, is an amount of at least 0.01% by weight.

Zur Erleichterung der Kaltverformung von Eisenwerkstoffen durch Aufbringen eines Phosphatüberzuges wird zwecks Erzeugung einer schweren, zinkreichen Schicht mit einer wäßrigen, sauren Phosphatierungslösung, die 7,5 bis 75 g/l, insbesondere 10 bis 30 g/l, Zinkionen und 0,1 bis 10 g/l Hydroxylamin enthält, gearbeitet. Die Phosphatierungslösung, deren pH-Wert vorzugsweise 1,8 bis 2,5 beträgt, sollte zusätzlich bis 20 g/l Manganionen und 5 bis 75 g/l, vorzugsweise 30 bis 70 g/l, Nitrat enthalten. Sie toleriert einen Gehalt an Eisenionen bis 25 g/l und läßt sich mithin ohne Einbuße auf der Eisenseite fahren.
