The impervious sealing and the production method for it make it possible to replace the expensive methods of shield tunnelling or freezing and as a result eliminate interference with the ground-water balance and prepare the ground masses to be excavated in such a way that they can be continuously excavated in timed sequence with the subterranean construction from a secured position and in the dry. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the impervious sealing consists of an elastic sealing jacket (3) which is formed from sealing walls (2) arranged in the form of a canopy, screen, housing or the like and which hermetically seals off the ground masses (5) to be excavated from the ground water (4) and/or from air. Mit einer Abdichtung und einem Herstellungverfahren hierfür zur Schaffung tragfähiger, abbaufähiger Bodenmassen für die Ausführung von Untertagebauwerken, wie Hohlraumbauten od. dgl., wird es ermöglicht, die aufwendigen Methoden der Schildvortriebe oder Vereisung zu ersetzen und dabei den Eingriff in den Grundwasserhaushalt auszuschließen sowie die abzubauenden Bodenmassen so aufzubereiten, daß diese im Takt des Untertagebauwerks kontinuierlich, aus gesicherter Position und im Trockenen abgebaut werden können. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, daß die Abdichtung aus einer elastischen Abdichthülle (3) besteht, die aus in Form eines Dachs, eines Schirms, eines Gehäuses od. dgl. angeordneten Dichtwänden (2) gebildet ist und die abzubauenden Bodenmassen (5) hermetisch gegen Grundwasser (4) und/oder gegen Luft abdichtet. Bei dem hierfür vorgesehenen Herstellungsverfahren werden die anstehenden Bodenmassen (5) einer trocken vorzutreibenden Baustelle durch eine Abdichthülle gegen das Grundwasser (4) und/oder die Luft abgedichtet, entwässert, unter dem Druck des an der Außenseite der Abdichthülle (3) anstehenden Grundwassers (4) verdichtet und/oder durch Vakuumbeaufschlagung stabilisiert.
