For optically scanning an object row (8) by means of a photoelectric linear detector (4) and imaging optics (7), a cylindrical lens (6) is arranged in front of the linear detector (4) and parallel to the latter. The cylindrical lens (6) produces an optical integration in a direction transversely to the direction of scanning whilst retaining a high optical resolution in the direction of scanning. <IMAGE>

Zur optischen Gegenstandsabtastung einer Gegenstandszeile (8) mittels einer fotoelektrischen Sensorzeile (4) und einer Abbildungsoptik (7) ist vor der Sensorzeile (4) und parallel zu dieser eine Zylinderlinse (6) angeordnet. Die Zylinderlinse (6) bewirkt eine optische Integration in einer Richtung quer zur Abtastrichtung unter Beibehaltung einer hohen optischen Auflösung in Abtastrichtung.
