Process for pickling, for example after hot-rolling operations. The pickling is performed by means of a hydrofluoric acid solution in conditions which now allow only a small amount of hydrogen to be discharged to the atmosphere. Application: elimination of pollution by effluents and especially by nitric acid.

L'invention concerne le décapage de pièces en acier, et notamment en acier inoxydable, par exemple après des opérations de laminage à chaud. Le décapage est effectué au moyen d'une solution d'acide fluorhydrique, dans des conditions permettant de ne plus rejeter à l'atmosphère qu'un faible débit d'hydrogène. Application: suppression de la pollution par les effluents, et notamment par l'acide nitrique.
