Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0189091A2] 1. A jalousie-type roller shutter having a multitude of slats (5) hinged one to another at their upper longitudinal edge via draw links (7), guide elements (27) provided in laterally arranged guide rails (1) in which the slats (5), from a particular uppermost slat (5) downward, are supported and rendered rotatable about their longitudinal axis by means of guide pins (24), and a base slat (25) comprising a hinged tilting strut (39) whose upper edge may be moved out of the plane of the roller shutter armour on touch-down of the base slat (25) so as to swivel the slats (5), characterized in that the axes of the joints (8, 9, 10, 11 ; 16, 17, 18, 19) extend in a common plane of the shutter armour in the closed position, in that the guide elements in the guide rails (1) are chains having chain links (27) each of which is provided with a guide slot (32) in which the guide pin (24) of the respective slat is located in a displaceable manner, in that on each chain link (27) there is a projection (34) having an outward slanting locating surface (36) which is in correlation with a contact surface (37) in a recess (35) in the front face of the respective slat (5), in that connecting links (15) are hinged on the slats (5) at a distance from the upper longitudinal edge, and in that the tilting strut (39) is hinged at its upper edge both to the longitudinal bottom edge (14) of the lowermost slat (5) and to the lowermost connecting link (15).
