[origin: WO8601071A1] Improvements to a device for reducing the effort of lifting soil with a spade or the like, the device comprising an arm (3) articulated at one end on a collar (16) wherein rotates the handle of the tool (1) and having at its other end a grip (2) held by the fore hand, so that the lifting of the spade ladden with soil may be effected only with a flexure of the legs without bending the trunk. The improvements comprise: 1) an elastic device (5) applying the arm (3) on the top part of the handle of the tool (1) when the grip (2) of the arm is released; 2) a telescopic device of the arm (3) enabling to adjust its length in relation to the size of the person; 3) an elastic device (18, 21) effecting the return of the arm at the front of the tool, which is the initial position, when the grip of the arm is released and the spade has been turned over to any side.

Perfectionnement d'un dispositif pour réduire l'effort de soulèvement de la terre avec une bêche ou analogue; le dispositif perfectionné composé d'un bras (3) articulé à une extrémité sur un collier (16) dans lequel tourne le manche de l'outil, (1) et ayant à son autre extrémité une poignée (2) saisie par la main avant; de sorte que le soulèvement de la bêche chargée de terre peut être effectué seulement avec une flexion des jambes, sans flexion du tronc. Les perfectionnements consistent: 1) En un dispositif élastique (5) appliquant le bras (3) sur le haut du manche de l'outil (1) lorsque la poignée (2) du bras est lâchée. 2) En un dispositif télescopique du bras (3) permettant d'en régler la longueur en fonction de la taille de la personne. 3) En un dispositif élastique (18, 21) effectuant le rappel du bras à l'avant de l'outil, position initiale, lorsque la poignée du bras est lâchée, et que la bêche a été retournée de quelque côté que ce soit.
