[origin: WO8601413A1] Pumping apparatus for administering anaesthetic agent to a patient on a regular basis, comprises a motor drive pump which permits actuation of the pump at adjustable periodic intervals with the duration of actuation also being adjustable. The pump may be of paristaltic type (28) having equiangular distributed lobes (32) on a rotary driven member (30). The flexible tube (34) which is held in tension relative to the lobes (32) is detachable. The unit is controlled by setting adjustable knobs for the periodic interval of actuation (T1) and the duration of each actuation (T2). T1 may be adjusted from under 30 minutes to over 4 hours (1/2 - 4 hours being preferred for performing epidural block) at dose delivery rates of about 10 ml within 5 minutes. The T2 knob is calibrated in units of dose. A remote transmitter may be used to indicate stages of operation or malfunction of the unit.

Dispositif de pompage pour administrer un agent anesthésique à un patient, sur une base régulière, comprenant une pompe à moteur pouvant être actionnée à intervalles périodiques réglables et dont la durée de fonctionnement peut aussi être réglée. La pompe peut être du type paristaltique (28) ayant des lobes (32) répartis d'une façon équiangulaire sur un membre (30) entraîné dans un mouvement rotatoire. Le tube flexible (34) qui est maintenu en tension par rapport aux lobes (32) est amovible. L'unité est commandée par des boutons réglables déterminant l'intervalle de fonctionnement périodique (T1) et la durée de chaque fonctionnement (T2). T1 peut être réglé de moins de 30 minutes à plus de 4 heures (1/2 - 4 heures étant l'intervalle préféré pour opérer un bloc épidural) avec des débits de doses d'environ 10 ml en 5 minutes. Le bouton T2 est calibré en unités de doses. Un transmetteur télécommandé peut être utilisé pour indiquer les stades de l'opération ou un mauvais fonctionnement de l'unité.
