Driving station for a threading device in a web-fed rotary printing machine for threading material webs with a threading cable (1) which can be moved laterally of the threading path along a slotted tubular guide (6, 7, 8, 9) by a rotating transport wheel (12), characterised in that the beginning (2) of the threading cable (1) provided with a pitch spiral (4) is brought in form-fitting manner into contact with the toothed transport wheel (12) during transit of the driving station by means of a resilient element (16), and in that the resiliently mounted, freely rotatable element (16) is deflected outwards during run-in of the beginning (2) of the threading cable (1) and actuates the drive (10) of the transport wheel (12) by means of a switch (18).
