Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0193085A2] Applicator device for applying a viscous liquid, for example an adhesive, a sealing compound or a plastic compound, in which the viscous liquid can be pressed out via the outlet cross-section of a nozzle arrangement, whose outlet cross-section is formed by an adjustment piston (61) and a mating piece (66) which interacts with the latter and has a bore which receives the adjustment piston, at least one nozzle groove (65) which varies in cross-section in its longitudinal direction being present in the adjustment piston or in the mating piece, which groove forms with the mating piece an outlet cross-section, for the viscous liquid, whose size can be varied by adjusting the adjustment piston. According to the invention, the adjustment piston is arranged rotatably in the bore of the mating piece and the nozzle groove extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the adjustment piston. The nozzle groove communicates with an inlet line (64), arranged in the mating piece (66), and an outlet line (63), the connection points of these lines (64, 63) to the nozzle groove in the circumferential direction of the adjustment piston being offset with respect to one another. By means of the design according to the invention, deposits in the flow path of the applicator device are thus avoided and easy and precise adjustability, which is required for control purposes, is achieved (Figure 2b). <IMAGE>
