[origin: EP0193144A2] Method of tensioning a printing plate on a cylinder, tensioning device and printing plate for same, where a device capable of reducing the circumference of the printing cylinder is used with a printing plate having integrally formed recesses at its ends in order to enable an interlocking join between those ends after wrapping the plate round the cylinder, where the cylinder possesses a magnetic holding device provided at a suitable position on the cylinder outer surface and, conforming to the magnetic holding device, the ends of the printing plate which are to be joined together come to lie on the cylinder outer surface, and the cylinder has a longitudinal recess with a tensioning device consisting of a radially movable element, the outer face of which possesses a curvature matching the curvature of the cylinder outer surface. <IMAGE>
