A covering device for recesses (2) in tiled walls (1) has a tile cover (3) and a cover mounting (5) inserted into the recess (2), the tile cover (3) being assigned a handle (6) for opening. To make it possible to actuate the covering device easily at any time, the handle is a movable grip part (6) which is fastened to the tile cover (3) at the edge or rear and is of a width matched to the tiling joint thickness and which, with the tile cover (3) closed, can be moved from a position of use projecting from the edge joint (7) between the cover (3) and adjacent tiles into a position of rest extending within the edge joint.

Eine Abdeckvorrichtung für Aussparungen (2) verfliester Wände (1) weist einen Fliesendeckel (3) und eine in die Aussparung (2) eingesetzte Deckelhalterung (5) auf, wobei dem Fliesendeckel (3) eine Handhabe (6) zum Öffnen zugeordnet ist. Um jederzeit eine problemlose Betätigung der Abdeckvorrichtung zu ermöglichen, dient als Handhabe ein rand- oder rückseitig am Fliesendeckel (3) befestigter, beweglicher Griffteil (6), der eine an die Fugenstärke der Verfliesung angepaßte Breite besitzt und bei geschlossenem Fliesendeckel (3) von einer aus der Randfuge (7) zwischen Dekkel (3) und angrenzenden Fliesen vorragenden Gebrauchslage in eine sich innerhalb der Randfuge erstreckende Ruhelage bewegbar ist.
