[origin: WO8601452A1] A method for splitting boards, chiefly chipboard, in order to obtain two equal-size sections whose surfaces present a rough and decorative texture, and a device which operates in accordance with this method. The board is directed between two rollers (3) against a wedge-shaped knife (1) which is fixed between two jaws (4). The jaws (4) impart a rotating motion to the knife (1) in its main plane. These jaws (4) are set at a small angle to the main plane of the knife (1) so that in addition to the rotating motion the knife also moves in an undulatory motion perpendicular to the direction of rotation.

Procédé de fendage de plaques de bois, en particulier de bois aggloméré, de manière à obtenir deux sections d'égales dimensions dont les surfaces présentent une texture rugueuse et décorative, et dispositif permettant de mettre en oeuvre ce procédé. La plaque de bois est dirigée entre deux cylindres (3) contre un couteau en forme de coin (1) qui est fixé entre deux mâchoires (4). Les mâchoires (4) confèrent un mouvement rotatif au couteau (1) dans son plan principal. Ces mâchoires (4) sont réglées suivant un petit angle par rapport au plan principal du couteau (1) de sorte que, outre le mouvement rotatif, le couteau se déplace aussi avec un mouvement ondulatoire perpendiculaire au sens de rotation.
