Valve equipment used for directional control of a piston/cylinder unit (22, 24), with a pressure regulator valve (12) the valve piston (52) of which can be actuated f.i. by a proportional magnet (14) and the pressure regulator will allow the entry of a pressure means via the cylinder piston (24) whereby a control spring (34) fitted as a coil pressure spring and acting with the valve piston (52) is situated between the cylinder piston (24) and one end (58) of the valve piston (52), characterized in that the pressure regulator valve (12) constitutes an independent, ready-to-mount unit fixed at or within the cylinder (22) of the piston/cylinder unit in a way that the control spring (34) is actuated asymmetrically by the valve piston (52).
