Abstract (en)
Double belt continuous casting moulds with upstream tubular pouring nozzles are monitored in the mould chamber (8) by means of (8a) bores (24, 25) sloping at different angles and of corresponding sensor units (22, 23). If the liquid metal level (G) in the mould chamber reaches a limit position predetermined by a monitoring bore, this is indicated by a signal, on the basis of which a displacement of the liquid metal level towards the other limit position (highest position Gh or lowest position Gt) in each case is brought about by altering the mass flow of molten metal fed in and/or the casting rate. <IMAGE>

Doppelbandstranggießkokillen mit vorgeschalteten, rohrförmigen Gießdüsen Werden im Kokillenraum (8) mittels (8a) unterschiedlich geneigter Bohrungen (24, 25) Sowie enfsprechenden Sensoreinheiten (22, 23) über wacht. Falls der Gießspiegel (G) im Kokillenraum eine durch eine Überwachungsbohrung vorgegebene Grenzlage erreicht, wird dies durch ein Signal angezeigt, aufgrund dessen durch Verändern des Zuführmengenstroms an Metallschmelze und/oder der Gießgeschwindigkeit eine Gießspiegel-Verschiebung in Richtung auf die jeweils andere Grenzlage (Höchstlage Gh bzw. Tiefstlage Gt) herbeigeführt wird.
