1. A process for the production of an offset printing plate by transferring information onto a printing suitable for offset printing, wherein one or more vaporizable and/or fusible substances of the formula (I) A-Xn wherein A is an n-valent hydrophobic radical, X is a hydraulic substituent and n is 1, 2, 3 or 4 are transferred imagewise from a base onto the printing plate by means of an electronically controlled thermal head.

Bei dem Verfahren erfolgt die Übertragung der Information mittels eines gesteuerten Thermokopfes, durch den eine oder mehrere verdampfbare und/oder schmelzbare Substanzen der Formel (I) A - Xn (I), auf die Platte übertragen werden. In den Formel (I) bedeuten A einen n-wertigen hydrophoben Rest, X eine hydrophile Gruppe und n 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 oder 6. Die vorher hydrophile Plattenoberfläche wird durch (I) hydrophobiert. Das Verfahren erlaubt die Herstellung von Druckplatten ohne photomechanische Schritte.
