Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0194975A2] An installation for heating water by thermal radiation in the visible spectrum comprises an intermediate air channel (3) delimited by a primary, radiating wall (1) associated with the energy source (5) and by a secondary wall (2) for heat transfer, the internal surface of which collects the thermal radiation emitted by the primary, radiating wall (1) and transmitted through the intermediate channel (3). The external surface of this secondary wall (2) serves to heat the water contained in a reservoir (4). The intermediate channel (3), which serves for the transmission of the thermal radiation, is provided with a lower air inlet opening (7) and with an upper air outlet opening (8), which ensures free circulation of air in this intermediate channel (3), which allows indirect heating of the water by means of the thermal radiation emitted by the primary wall (1), which the energy source (5) brings to a high temperature, transmitted through the intermediate channel (3) with free air circulation, collected and absorbed by the internal surface of the secondary wall (2), the external surface of which serves to heat the water. This installation makes it possible to use thermal radiation in the visible spectrum to carry out indirect heating of water, of any other fluid, liquid or gaseous, or of a solid medium, in contact with the external surface of the secondary wall (2). <IMAGE>
