[origin: US4651378A] A drive train is situated between an electric motor and a rotatable support disk to which an exchangeable cleaning or treatment implement or tool is fastened. In order to prevent overloading of the motor as well as to optimally adapt the speed of rotation of the support disc to operating conditions, especially the surface properties of the floor, the drive train possesses a friction transmission drive, in particular a friction wheel drive. This friction transmission drive automatically alters the rotational speed of the support disc in accordance with the torque required by it with a constant driving torque of the motor.

Zwischen einem Elektromotor (25) und einer Halterung (15), and der ein Reinigungs- oder Bearbeitungswerkzeug (14) austauschbar zu befestigen ist, ist ein Getriebezug (23; 18, 19) eingeschaltet. Um namentlich eine Ueberlastung des Motors (25) zu verhindern, und ausserdem die Drehzahl der Halterung (15) optimal an die Gegebenheiten, insbesondere an die Oberflächenbeschaffenheit des Bodens anzupassen, enthält der Getriebezug ein kraftschlüssiges Getriebe (23), insebesondere ein Reibradgetriebe, das selbsttätig die Drehazahl der Halterung (15) nach Massgabe des von dieser aufzuwendenden Drehmomentes bei konstantem Abtriebsdrehmoment des Motors (15) verändert.
