[origin: EP0195362A2] Epoxidation of unsaturated alcohols or mixtures of alcohols containing unsaturated alcohols having 8 to 26 carbon atoms gives reaction products, which are subsequently reacted with amines with the formation of hydroxyamines or mixtures containing hydroxyamines. If desired, an ethylene oxide and/or propylene oxide adduct is formed with the hydroxyamines or the mixture containing hydroxyamines. The reaction products are used as cleaning boosters in detergents, dishwashing liquids and cleansers. Detergents containing these reaction products additionally act as laundry softeners.
