Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8601700A1] A self-closing dispenser includes a cap (70) having apertures (76), a container (74) having a neck (72), a sealing plate (80) positioned atop the neck, and apertures (78) extending through the sealing plate (80). Resilient members, such as plastic leaf spring (82) or sponge-like pads, are integrally formed with, or otherwise secured between, the cap (70) and/or the neck (72) of the container. Cooperating tongues (90, 92) and grooves (84, 86), with lands (88, 94) situated therebetween, are defined between the interior surface of the cap (70) and the exterior surface of the neck (72) for drawing the cap (70) snugly against the sealing plate. The resilient members normally retain the apertures in the cap out of alignment with the apertures in the sealing plate (80). The apertures (76) are brought into alignment by applying manual pressure to the cap (70) so that the contents of the container (74) can be dispensed. Upon termination of the manual pressure, the resilient members automatically shift the apertures (76) out of alignment and close the dispenser.
