[origin: US4671221A] A valve control arrangement for internal combustion engines with reciprocating pistons, comprises a housing having a housing opening, a valve piston axially displaceable in the housing opening, a valve closing spring, a valve plunger on which the valve piston acts against the valve closing spring, a cam piston axially displaceable in the housing opening, a valve control cam, a pressing spring which presses the cam piston against the valve control cam, a working chamber formed between the valve piston and the cam piston and arranged to be filled with pressure medium which transmits a lifting movement of the cam piston to the valve piston, the pressing spring which acts on the cam piston being arranged outside of the working chamber and supported at the side of the housing.

Bei einer Ventilsteuervorrichtung für Hubkolben-Brennkraftmaschinen mit einem auf einen Ventilstößel (15) entgegen einer Ventilschließfeder (13) einwirkenden axial verschiebbaren Ventilkolben (22), mit einem mittels einer Andruckfeder (32) an einem Ventilsteuernokken (33) angelegten axial verschiebbaren Nockenkolben (24) und mit einem vom Ventilkolben (22) und Nockenkolben (24) begrenzten Arbeitsraum (25), der mit einem die Hubbewegung des Nockenkolbens (24) auf den Ventilkolben (22) übertragenden Druckmittel füllbar ist, ist zwecks Reduzierung des schädlichen Kompressionsvolumens im Arbeitsraum (24) die am Nockenkolben (24) angreifende Andruckfeder außerhalb des Arbeitsraums (25) angeordnet und stützt sich gehäusefest ab. Die durch ein Sperrventil (39) absperrbare Druckmittel-Zuleitung (26) zum Arbeitsraum (25) ist in dem Zuleitungsabschnitt zwischen Arbeitsraum (25) und Sperrventil (39) extrem kleinvolumig ausgebildet.
