Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0196698A1] 1. A device for driving and positioning gudgeons (1) in not yet set concrete paving blocks (3), this device comprising a lower smoothing plate (4) optionally attached to the rear portion (5) of a compacting-finishing machine and adapted to rest and to slide on the surface of the already compacted concrete paving block (3), provided with a row of openings (6) arranged in a line at predetermined intervals, allowing the gudgeons (1) to be positioned by pressing guides (7) capable of sliding along vertical columns to allow the introduction and the driving of the gudgeons (1) in the not yet set concrete paving blocks (3), characterized in that it comprises a device for the automatic distribution of the gudgeons (1) constituted by a movable charging caisson (8) partitioned into a row of vertical compartments (9) open at the base, equipped with an adequate number of the said gudgeons (1) and drivable from one side to the other of the smoothing plate (4) so as to traverse a transverse row of notches (15) made side-by-side at predetermined intervals in a pull-out frame (12) in turn resting in sliding manner on the smoothing plate (4) and to deposit in each of the notches (15) gudgeons (1) which are then entrained, by translation of the pull-out frame (12) above each of the openings (6) provided in the smoothing plate (4), so as to permit the gudgeons (1) to fall on the concrete and to be sunk in the paving block (3) at the point of joints (2) therein.
